Mouthwash (mouthwash), toothpastes, ointments, skin creams, shampoos and perfumes (solutions containing propylene glycol usually remain clear even when diluted very much with water) It is used as a preservative in cosmetics in the formation of emulsions, as a solvent for fragrances (essences), as an extractant to extract active extracts from natural extracts, as a lubricant (e.g. for machines used in the cosmetics industry). It has skin softening properties in cosmetics and detergents and is used to reduce irritation on the skin from surfactants. It is used 1-5% in jelly and 0.5-5% in shampoo. It is widely used in formulations for bakery products. It is used in the flavor and essence industry, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. The technical quality form is an important ingredient for polyurethane plastics and polyester resins. It is also used in the lubrication of freezing machines in the tobacco industry, food industry. Forty-five percent of the propylene glycol produced is used as a chemical feedstock for the production of unsaturated polyester resins. Propylene glycol replaces ethylene glycol in low-toxicity, environmentally friendly automotive antifreezes. It is also used for winterizing plumbing systems in empty buildings. |
